Alan Watts (1915-1973) - famous British philosopher, writer, lecturer, one of the most prominent translators and popularizers of Eastern philosophy in the West, wrote more than 25 books.
“Tao. The Way of Water” is the last book of Alan Watts, which was never completed.
In it, the author rethinks the ancient philosophy of Tao, referring to both old and modern sources| explains why the Tao can only be written in Chinese characters and what it makes sense| describes the four main principles of Taoism: the polarity of Yin-Yang, Tao, Wuwei and Te, and explains what the main mistake in comprehending the Tao is.
He treats the Chinese teachings of Tao in the same manner as Zen Buddhism in his classic seminal work, The Way of Zen, is simple, but at the same time profound and dignified. Critics agreed that this work - the last in his creative and life path - became the best monument to the life and literature of Alan Watts.
