A scientist who is constantly inclined to play, a translator who carefully and recklessly violates the boundaries of linguistic registers, a poet who is constantly changing and does not want to stop in her transformations, Elena Mikhailik shows the reader a world full of strange, scary and disturbing things. This is a phantasmagoria world of an exciting and painful tale of wanderings and at the same time a folklore expedition, the purpose of which is to study such terrible tales, but which itself found itself in the process of wandering and, possibly, delusion. Elena Mikhailik was born in Odessa, graduated from the Faculty of Philology of OSU. Since 1993 he has lived in Sydney, teaching at the University of New South Wales. Ph.D. Poems and articles were published in the anthology “Unbound Ulysses”, magazines “Arion”, “Air”, “Children of Ra”, “New World”, “New Literary Review”. Andrei Bely Prize in the Humanitarian Research category (2019) for a monograph dedicated to the work of Varlam Shalamov. Author of three books of poetry: “Neither a Dream nor a Cloud” (Argo-Risk, 2008), “Expedition” (Literature without Borders, 2019), “The Fish Said Yes” (Armchair Scientist, 2021).
