“Pearl” is a story about how nature gives a person, in this case a woman, strength and courage, inspires confidence in one’s abilities, in the rightness of actions that sometimes seem impossible. Ensina, the heroine of the story, meets Henrik Ibsen in the mountains of Norway. Conversations with him, as well as meetings with ordinary workers, awaken in her the idea of the need for freedom for a woman, about independence in marriage. Her pearl necklace, a gift from her husband, falls apart, and she gives it to a local shoemaker to be repaired, fearing in her heart that the pearls might go missing. But the shoemaker, on the contrary, strings an extra pearl on a thread...
