The future. People in Tokyo live next to biorobots, simulated animals and silicone trees. Nature is dying, and the government in the country - the democratic technocracy - is being torn apart by corpocrats and totalitarians. Order is maintained by the Yakuza clans. One of their members becomes a victim of a political game and ends up in a correctional prison. After his consciousness goes through a series of reformative programs and he returns to society, the clan disowns its yakuza. Now he is on his own.

Книга "Техно-Корп. Вільний Токіо" пропонує читачеві зануритися в похмуре, але водночас захоплююче майбутнє, де технології та природа перебувають у постійній боротьбі. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу Токіо, де біороботи та силіконові дерева стали звичними супутниками людей, а сама природа вмирає під тиском технократії. Сюжет розгортається навколо члена якудзи, який стає жертвою політичної гри, і його подорож до самопізнання та відновлення в суспільстві є надзвичайно захопливою. Книга змушує задуматися про моральні аспекти технологічного прогресу та наслідки, які він може мати для людства. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на загальне враження, я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться науковою фантастикою та соціальними проблемами сучасності. Вона залишає після себе багато запитань і спонукає до роздумів про наше місце в світі, де технології стають все більш домінуючими.
