Персонажі прописані дуже яскраво, і читач відчуває їхні емоції, переживання та мотивації. Особливо цікаво спостерігати за розвитком стосунків між Лайманом Брілендом та дочкою Альбертона, адже їхня любов стає важливим елементом сюжету.
