The diary of the writer Bram Stoker, telling about his life before the release of the famous novel “Dracula,” falls into the hands of London publishers. This diary, supplemented by letters and other materials, reflects the story of Stoker's strange and even supernatural relationship with the mysterious American doctor Tumblety. Summer 1888. London is shocked by a series of brutal murders committed by a maniac nicknamed Jack the Ripper. By chance, the main suspect becomes Bram Stoker, who was found not far from the place where the first victim was found (by the way, killed with a knife belonging to Stoker). To remove suspicion from himself, Stoker is forced to personally undertake the investigation, for which he enlists the support of his eminent friends who are members of the secret society - the Order of the Golden Dawn. He attends the initiation ceremony, in which Dr. Tumblety also participates, and during this event something monstrous happens...

Книга "Досьє Дракули" стала для мене справжнім відкриттям. Автор вдало поєднує реальні історичні події з вигаданими елементами, створюючи напружену атмосферу, яка тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Щоденник Брема Стокера, що розкриває його стосунки з таємничим доктором Тамблті, відкриває нові грані його особистості та творчого процесу. Вражає, як автор вдало вплітає в сюжет жахливі події Лондона 1888 року, пов'язані з Джеком Потрошителем, і як це впливає на життя Стокера. Читання цієї книги стало для мене не лише захоплюючим, але й пізнавальним досвідом. Хоча переклад не завжди ідеальний, загальна якість тексту не заважає насолоджуватися цим шедевром. Рекомендую всім, хто любить містичні історії та класичну літературу!
