Osho, also known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, is the enlightened Master of our times. “Osho” means “ocean-like,” “Blessed One.” In this series of talks, Osho comments on the Isha Upanishad. “The world of the Upanishads is very close to my approach. In fact, here I am reviving the spirit of the Upanishads. This spirit has disappeared even in India, and has been gone for at least three thousand years. The Upanishads are not anti-life, they are not there to renounce life. They have a holistic approach: life must be experienced in its entirety. They don't teach escapism. They want you to live in the world, but in such a way that you remain above the world, in a sense outside the world, living in the world and yet not of it. But they don’t teach you that life should be rejected, that you should run from life, that life is ugly, or that life is a sin. They enjoy life! This is a gift from God; this is a form of manifestation of God.” The conversations were held from October 11 to October 26, 1980 at the Osho International Commune in India, Pune.
