The book "Aeneid. Virgil". The text was translated by the Scottish poet Eilan Ramsay in two volumes. "Aeneid" is an epic poem written by the ancient Roman poet Publius Vergilius Maron (Virgil). This poem tells the story of the Trojan hero Aeneas, who, after the destruction of Troy, goes on a journey to Italy, where he was supposed to found the Roman state.
In Ramsey's translation, the "Aeneid" gets a new sonorous image, thanks to the Scottish language. The author successfully combined the classic epic with the culture and traditions of Scotland, which makes this translation unique and interesting for readers of both countries. The deep philosophical reflections, heroic struggle and spiritual values of the Aeneid are revealed through Scottish poetry, which brings new nuances and emotions to this classic work.
