August Gailit (1891 - 1960) is one of the most remarkable writers of the “Silver Age” of Estonian literature of the 20-30s. In 1944 he emigrated to Sweden. Therefore, his book is published in Russian for the first time. The novel “Toomas Nipernaadi” is seven short stories united by the image of the main character. The hero of the novel travels, meets different people, learns their problems, and experiences love adventures. This is a man of romantic moods, dreamy, witty. He loves to help people, does not lose heart in difficult circumstances, he is endowed with a rich imagination, loves life and knows how to encourage his neighbor. The novel reads like a modern one - most of the problems and feelings depicted by the writer are eternal problems and eternal feelings that do not change in time and space .
