Vaidelots in ancient times were the name given to the pagan priests of the Baltic tribes - Samogitians, Yatvingians, Krivichi, Prussians, Latgallians. The Vaidelots were keepers of secret knowledge, defenders of their peoples and mediators in relations with the patron gods... So he might have lived an ordinary life, but cruel people from the west came to the lands of the Dainavas - the knights of the Teutonic Order, who intended to conquer the forest inhabitants. And Skumand and his faithful friend, Russian Voislav, had to stand up for the defense of their native land!..

Автор вдало передає дух епохи, описуючи не лише битви з Тевтонським орденом, але й глибокі зв'язки між людьми та їхніми богами. Читати цю книгу – це як відправитися в подорож у часі, де кожна сторінка розкриває нові таємниці та пригоди. Хоча переклад місцями може бути не зовсім ідеальним, це не заважає насолоджуватися захоплюючим сюжетом та яскравими персонажами. Рекомендую "Вайделот" усім, хто любить історію, міфологію та епічні пригоди!
