Том 2 "Петербурзьких нетрів" Ст. В. Крестовського продовжує розкривати глибокі соціальні контрасти, які панують у місті. Автор майстерно малює картину зовнішнього вишуканого життя Петербурга, одночасно показуючи його темні, невидимі куточки, де панують бідність і безнадія. Цей роман не лише про місто, але й про людей, які живуть у ньому, їхні мрії, страхи та надії. Читання цієї книги – це подорож у часі, яка дозволяє заглянути в душу російського суспільства XIX століття. Хоча текст був перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних помилок, загальна якість перекладу все ж залишається на високому рівні. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, соціологією та літературою, адже вона відкриває нові горизонти розуміння російської культури та її складностей.
