The first issue of the magazine for 2012 opens with a selection of poetry and prose (several short stories from the autobiographical book “Memories See Me” (1993)) by the last (2011) Nobel Prize winner in literature, the Swede Tumas Tranströmer (1931). One of the translators and the author of the introduction, Alyosha Prokopyev, provides an excerpt from the Nobel Committee’s justification for its choice: these “images give us a renewed view of reality.” It’s true: “Death is calmness.” The second translator is Alexandra Afinogenova.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
