The story is based on the author's personal observations of the life of a compact group of Soviet people in one of the African countries. The events take place in the seventies of the last century. The scene is the Soviet embassy in one of the countries of West Africa. The intrigue of the story lies in the fact that in such groups there were many rules of behavior, deviation from which was strictly prohibited. Everyone in the colony watched each other very closely and tried to catch each other. But since no one fully knew all the rules, the situation often got out of control, and the most unexpected outcome came. In the story, there is a constant struggle between elementary everyday logic and far-fetched, far-fetched standards of behavior for the builders of communism. This story can be considered an absurd comedy.

Вражаюча повість про абсурд радянської реальності
Ця книга - справжня знахідка для тих, хто цікавиться історією та культурою радянського періоду. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу життя радянських людей в екзотичній обстановці африканської країни, створюючи яскраві образи персонажів, які намагаються знайти своє місце в умовах жорстких соціальних норм і правил. Інтрига повісті полягає в тому, як ці правила часто суперечать елементарній логіці, що призводить до комічних і абсурдних ситуацій. Читання викликає сміх і водночас змушує задуматися про глибші аспекти людської природи та соціальної поведінки. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на сприйняття тексту, я б рекомендував цю повість усім, хто хоче поринути в атмосферу радянської епохи з її парадоксами та абсурдними реаліями. Це не просто книга, а справжня подорож у часі!
