In 1861, three friends - Jules Verne himself, and his friends: composer Aristide Ignard and lawyer Emile Loroy - decide to take a trip to Scandinavia. Three townspeople approach the upcoming undertaking very seriously, trying not to miss anything. This journey was made in reality. However, the novel was not finished and only its first chapter has reached us, the unpublished manuscript of which was kept in the Municipal Library of Amiens. It was published in the GEO Hors-série Jules Verne in Paris in 2003.
