If we compare Jana Žemoytelytė’s novel with anything, it is probably with a dramatic and smart television series, in which there is no causeless laughter behind the scenes, no fake sobbing fools. But there is a plot twisted by life itself (and oh, how she can do that!), and there is a heroine in whom you believe and who you are ready to love. Such films, in turn, are often compared to good books - they are, in fact, truly literary. What you have in front of you is a movie-book from which the reader “cannot tear himself away” (Alexander Kabakov). An amazing, beautiful, terrible love story, next to which there is certainly a place for envy, hatred, jealousy, and fear. And death, of course. But also light sadness, and the realization that life is still endless and wonderful as long as there is such love in it. Or at least hope for it.
