In the middle of the 22nd century, the famous African explorer of the solar system and the founder of a vast business empire, Eunice Ekinya, dies, the last decades of which were spent in voluntary confinement in lunar orbit. In her inheritance, clues are discovered, which her grandchildren follow in life-threatening circumstances to unravel from one planet to another. In the end, the tracks lead to the place of Eunice’s retreat, to a ship hidden inside, which at an unusually high speed delivers the descendants who are caught on it to an icy asteroid in the Oort cloud, where a stern grandmother left humanity the secret of creating engines for sublight interstellar flights and from where, as it turned out, Long ago I myself went on such a ship on a journey to distant stars.
