In fact, these stories are not entirely about food. Rather, these are stories related to food. Or, more precisely, to the most common dishes since Soviet times. Sausages with peas, carrot cutlets for three kopecks, sprats are practically artifacts of our recent past. Behind this simple food stands our entire former way of life. And the commonality of this way of life determines the duality and nostalgia of the book’s perception: the famous cartoonist Andrei Bilzho shares his memories, and Your own life flashes before your eyes, as it was some ten to twenty years ago.
