Alexander I was the tenth emperor of Russia, and during his reign, the Russian state withstood the formidable invasion of Napoleon, who conquered almost all of Europe. And not only did it survive, but it also defeated Bonaparte’s Grand Army, which was considered invincible. The people showed their strength, the army and commanders of Russia saved not only their country, but also their allies from the threat of enslavement. This book tells how the situation developed during the reign of one of the youngest Russian emperors, Alexander Pavlovich. It continues the series “Russia – the path through the centuries.” The authors of the articles are famous scientists from the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
