Nothing has changed on the tiny Breton island for more than a hundred years. Generation after generation, the poor village of Le Salans and the wealthy town of La Houssiniere fought for the only beach on the island. But now everything will change. Returning to her home island after a ten-year absence, Mado discovers that her family’s ancient home is threatened by tidal waves and the machinations of a local rich man. Worse, the entire village has lost its will and hope for the best. But Mado, caught up in the whirlwind of Paris, is ready to move mountains. Having secured the support - and gradually more than the support - of a stranger named Flynn, who ended up on the island, she tries to mobilize her fellow countrymen for heroic deeds. However, its very first successes have unexpected consequences: tragedies seemingly buried in the distant past come to light, and among them is a secret that has tormented Mado’s father for many decades...
