An unknown two-masted ship arrives on one of the Caribbean islands, on board which dozens of corpses of pirates are discovered, and only one surviving, but mentally ill pirate. The investigation is entrusted to an experienced investigator - Lieutenant Thornton. The study of nine figurines found on an unknown ship leads Thornton's investigation to the mystery of the most ancient monastic order, the history of which is connected with the origin and development of the human race on Earth. Lieutenant Thornton and priest Didien will have to go on a dangerous adventure across the Caribbean islands; face bloodthirsty pirates and cruel Spanish inquisitors in order to only touch the mystery - the reason for the existence of mankind.
