The book is dedicated to little-studied aspects of the life of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821–1881) and is the author’s attempt to answer the question: how did the writer’s creativity, journalism, way of thinking and behavior affect the severe chronic brain disease that he suffered from his youth until his last days. Correspondence, diary and draft entries, as well as some journalistic and artistic texts of F. M. Dostoevsky are analyzed. Drawings by F. M. Dostoevsky are reproduced on the cover.

Автор вдало досліджує маловивчені аспекти його життя, зокрема, вплив важкого захворювання на його творчість і світосприйняття. Читання нотаток, листування та щоденників Достоєвського дозволяє глибше зрозуміти його внутрішній світ, страхи та фобії, які, безсумнівно, вплинули на його літературну спадщину. Книга написана зрозумілою мовою, що робить її доступною для широкого кола читачів. Хоча переклад тексту здійснювався за допомогою штучного інтелекту, і в деяких випадках зустрічаються неточності, це не зменшує цінності змісту. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче краще зрозуміти не лише Достоєвського як письменника, а й його як людину, що бореться з особистими демонами.
