A play by the German poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht, completed in the first edition in 1945. One of the most consistent embodiments of the theory of “epic theater”. The action takes place in Georgia, during the Great Patriotic War - immediately after the ousting of German troops from the Caucasus. Two collective farms are arguing over land. In order to illustrate the dispute, singer Arkady Chkheidze shows the collective farmers a performance-parable from the times of feudal Georgia.
