The author of this book, journalist and political scientist Alexey Kungurov, is known for his harsh position in relation to the modern political regime in Russia. He was imprisoned twice for his professional activities and at the time of writing this book was again in a pre-trial detention center. In it he proves that the current political course of Russia is disastrous, and the economic measures taken by the government are simply suicidal. The need to change course is obvious, but how will this happen? Many are now talking about the inevitability of a revolution: national, cultural, fascist, “orange” or otherwise, but a process of peaceful renewal can still take place in Russia, the author argues, and now, perhaps, history presents us with the last chance for this.
