When King Tartaglia went to war, his wife gave birth to twins - a boy and a girl. But the evil queen mother accused her of treason and put two puppies in the cradle, ordered the children themselves to be killed, and their mother buried them alive in a hole. However, the servant took pity on the children and, instead of killing them, let them float down the river, where the sausage maker’s wife found them. And every day the Green Bird flew to the young queen and brought her food. Almost nineteen years passed, and the grieving king returned to his country.
