Владислав Реймонт майстерно змальовує атмосферу Гродно влітку 1793 року, коли, з одного боку, відбуваються бали та пікніки, а з іншого - серйозні політичні рішення, які визначають долю країни. Автор вміло поєднує особисті драми персонажів з історичними подіями, що робить сюжет ще більш захоплюючим. Хоча текст був перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних неточностей, загальна якість перекладу не заважає насолоджуватися цим літературним твором. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, культурою та соціальними аспектами життя в минулі часи!
