"Sardanapal" is a tragedy by the famous Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko, which vividly reflects the theme of power, ruthlessness and autocracy. The main character, the Assyrian king Sardanapalus, having lost faith in love and true values, drowned in the layout and luxury of his palace. The author skillfully shows its fall and destruction under the rule of the people who rise up against the tyrant. The book raises pressing questions of power, morality and justice, leaving the reader with deep thoughts and a sense of great artistic experience.
