John Le Carré (real name David Cornwell) is a famous English master of political detective fiction. The novel “The Spy Who Came in from the Cold,” which is based on the story of unraveling a political mystery, brought the author worldwide success. The other two novels included in the collection combine an anti-fascist orientation, the problem of political choice, and show the author’s characteristic interest in the situation when a social system that generates evil is opposed by a lone hero.
