We present to your attention a study by the outstanding specialist in Jewish mysticism Gershom Scholem (1897–1982), dedicated to the genesis and evolution of ideas about Shekhinah, i.e. The Eternal and Divine Feminine, in the context of Jewish tradition. This essay is a chapter in his work On the Mystical Shape of the Godhead: Basic Concepts in the Kabbalah (New York, 1991).
