The amazing variety of “incredible phenomena” in the USSR is a characteristic feature of the era of stagnation. However, in this book, researcher of late Soviet culture and literature Alexey Konakov studies not so much “incredible phenomena” in themselves, but rather a special discourse about the “incredible” - the historical trajectory of which surprisingly coincided with the rise and decline of the Soviet technical intelligentsia and Soviet techno-optimism in general.

Автор не лише описує ці "неймовірні" явища, але й аналізує, як вони вплинули на формування радянської технічної інтелігенції та суспільства в цілому. Книга написана живою та зрозумілою мовою, що робить її доступною для широкого кола читачів. Хоча деякі моменти перекладу можуть бути не зовсім точними, це не зменшує загального враження від читання. Рекомендую всім, хто хоче краще зрозуміти культурні контексти пізнього СРСР та їхнє відображення в суспільстві!
