The novel by Nikolai Verevochkin, depicting the history of the virgin town from its creation in the 60-70s to the devastation of the 90s, is full of specific, recognizable details of the time. At the same time, the novel, like all of Nikolai’s work, is philosophical in the good sense of the word. Moreover, it is myth-making.
