"Zoyka's Apartment", written simultaneously with "Days of the Turbins" and preceding "Running", is all about the same broken life, about the same people who have lost their ground under their feet. This (2nd) edition of the play (1935), prepared by the author for translation into French and performance in Paris, is sharply shortened and devoid of sharp details characteristic of the NEP times and present in the 1st edition (1926) - the one about to which Bulgakov wrote: “I love Zoykina very much...”
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
