The book includes four tragedies by I.F. Annensky on mythological subjects: “Melanippe the Philosopher”, “King Ixion”, “Laodamia”, “Famira the Kifared”. One of the greatest Russian poets of the turn of the century, Innokenty Annensky, is also a wonderful playwright and translator of ancient tragedies.
