The tale is divided into two parts. In the first, the author goes in search of the Island of Fairy Tales, which he heard a lot about in childhood, and in the second, having got there, he observes how fairy tales are born and meets with “unheard” children, i.e., with naughty children, and tells about the fate of one of them. The remaining poems, mostly philosophical, are devoted to various areas of human life.
