The building of the Bargello National Museum in Florence has a rich history: at various times the city council met in this place, then a prison, a barracks were located, and only in the 19th century a valuable collection of sculpture was moved here. Currently, treasures of Italian sculpture of the 14th–17th centuries are exhibited here, including the famous works “Drunken Bacchus”, “Brutus”, “Tondo Pitti” by Michelangelo, “David” and “St. George” by Donatello, “Bacchus” by Sansovino, “Bust of Cosimo” I Medici" Cellini and many other masterpieces of plastic art.
