The Doria Pamphili Gallery is a private gallery with an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and furniture in the Doria Pamphili Palace. The museum got its name from the family of owners of the vast palazzo of which it is part, combining the names of worthy ancient Italian families. Initially, the core of the collection consisted of paintings by Caravaggio, including the famous painting “Rest on the Flight to Egypt,” as well as works by artists of the Emilian school (Parmigianino, Correggio). Then the collection was replenished with numerous masterpieces by Titian, Tintoretto, Bellini, Bassano, Bronzino, Lorenzo Lotto and many other masters. Cover: M. M. da Caravaggio.
