The hero of Isaac Asimov's story “The Demon Two Centimeters Tall,” George Knutovicher, a descendant of an ancient Danish family, found a book with spells in an ancient family castle and learned to summon a small demon, whom he named Azazel. This insolent demon became the hero of several of Asimov’s stories, in each of which, on George’s instructions, he did some good deed for George’s friend, which ultimately turned against the friend himself. For example, his niece Juniper Pen was in love with one of the players on the college basketball team, Leonard Thompson. George decided to give her a gift by persuading Azazel to make her boyfriend the MVP. Since the demon had no idea about this game, George carried it in his pocket to the match, from which Azazel concluded that the goal of the game is to throw the ball into the basket. At the next match, Leonard had to show his class. And it happened. He threw the ball from any position, only it ended up in his hands, but... only into the basket that was closest to him. But every cloud has a silver lining...
