In our country, such an interesting and little-studied page of the Civil War is almost unknown as the participation of the white German volunteer corps (Freikorps) on the side of the Russian White Guards in the armed struggle against Bolshevism. Equally little known is the participation of Freikorps (Freikorps) in saving the young democratic German Republic from the German Bolsheviks-Spartacists in 1918–1923. All this is described in the new book by Wolfgang Akunov, published in the series “Documents and materials of the ancient and modern history of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem", for white volunteers became the last knighthood, the archetype of which was the Templars - the knights of the Order of the Poor Companions of Christ and the Temple of Solomon.
