Mark of information products 16+The Japanese word “samurai”, which is currently widely known, entered many foreign languages from the late 19th to the mid-20th centuries, and has become a symbol and synonym for a brave, uncompromising warrior fighting for an idea and making his own honor is higher than one's own life. The samurai owe their origins to clan military units that fought in the early era of the Japanese Empire against the “barbarian” tribes that had long inhabited the border regions of the Land of the Rising Sun. In the 10th–12th centuries, during the period of internecine wars between various Japanese feudal families (clans or military houses), the power of the samurai increasingly increased. By the middle of the 12th century, one of the military leaders of the samurai - the famous commander Kismori Taira - managed to seize power in the Land of the Rising Sun for the first time. Since then, for almost seven centuries, a regime was established in Japan in which political power was concentrated in the hands of the samurai military aristocracy. The influence of the samurai military class, its way of thinking, religious beliefs, habits, culture on the life of the entire Japanese society became overwhelming, despite the fact that during the bourgeois “revolution” (“restoration”) of Meiji, the samurai class, like all other classes of medieval Japan , was abolished. It is fully felt to this day. And we can say that the entire Japanese people have turned into a “nation of samurai.” The main stages of this process are described in this book. The book is published in the author's edition.
