"Philoctetes" is a drama by the ancient Greek poet Sophocles, which tells about the torment of the hero Philoctetes, who was betrayed and exiled by his friends to a deserted island due to the disease of a forever frightening snake. From that moment on, the hero leads a solitary life, descending to self-absorption and self-destruction. However, when the Greek warriors need his lover, the architect of the fall of Troy, in order to end the great war, he must again choose between revenge and forgiveness.
