MODERN SCIENCE insists on the Doctrine of Evolution just as does the human mind and the Secret Doctrine, and this idea is confirmed by ancient legends and myths and even the Bible itself, if you can read between the lines. We see how a flower slowly develops from a bud, and the bud from its seed. But where does the seed come from, with all its predetermined program of physical transformation and with its invisible, therefore spiritual forces, which gradually develop its shape, color and smell? The word evolution speaks for itself. The germ of the present human race must have pre-existed in the race from which it sprang, just as the seed in which lies the hidden flower of the future summer was developed in the calyx of the flower that gave birth to it. The progenitor may differ only slightly, but he is nevertheless different from his future offspring. The antediluvian ancestors of the elephant and lizard of the present time were, perhaps, a mammoth and a plesiosaur. Why couldn’t the “giants” mentioned in the Vedas, Voluspa and the Book of Genesis be the ancestors of our human race? And while it is positively absurd to think that a "transformation of species" has occurred according to some of the more materialistic theories of the evolutionists, it is quite natural to imagine that every species, from the mollusks to the ape-man, has changed since its original and definite form.
