Maguilers are not good magicians from fairy tales. Instead of robes they wear the uniforms of the Kaiser's army, instead of incantations - the rude language of military commands, instead of universal honor and respect - dirt, rotten canned food and the terrible roar of endless cannonade in the middle of the trenched fields of the World War. Magic does not give in to tanks, shrapnel and poisonous gases. On the contrary, in this reality, it was the Magillers, the front-line magicians, who saved Germany from defeat in 1918. And, who knows, maybe they will lead her to victory. A terrible victory, bought at a terrible price. Magicians-Luftmeisters tear the wings of French airplanes, Steinmeisters look for enemy mines, Feuermeisters incinerate infantry with fire right in the trenches, Lebensmeisters extract fragments... The Empire has many Magiliers, all of them are respected and each performs his task at the front. But only Magillers-Tottmeisters evoke unaccountable fear in everyone they meet. Necromancers in the service of the Kaiser, they raise dead German soldiers and again drive them to battle.
