Connie Willis is a famous American writer who has collected a record harvest of awards: 11 Hugos, 8 Nebulas, 12 Loci, 5 from readers of Asimov magazine... Willis’s talent was most clearly revealed in the Oxford Cycle, where we are talking about the workdays of employees of the Institute of Time, from their 21st century traveling to past centuries in order to most accurately reconstruct the events of the past. The novel "Except for the Dog", not being a direct continuation of the famous "Domesday Book", tells about the same brave time travelers, this time finding themselves in 1888 - at the end of the glorious Victorian era.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
