The famous crime writer Kurt Aust, a Dane who now lives in Norway and writes in Norwegian, became widely known in Europe after the publication of his first book, Judgment Day (1999), which was awarded the Best Debut Award. With this book, the writer opens a crime series from the Middle Ages, which includes the novel “Second After God,” which was awarded the prestigious Norwegian Riverton Prize and the Glass Key literary award as the best Scandinavian detective story for 2003. The books in the series are united not only by time and place of action, but also by the main characters - the Danish professor Thomas Buberg and his student, the Norwegian Petter Hortten. In the novel “Second After God” the heroes once again have to investigate a number of mysterious poisonings and mystical deaths that occurred during the time of the papal nuncio's secret trip to Lutheran Norway. Then young Petter was responsible for the safety of the Pope's envoy and his safe return to Copenhagen.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
