One of the outstanding monuments of Chinese thought, the fundamental source of the teachings of Taoism was a treatise created by Lao Tzu more than two thousand years ago and called "Tao Te Ching". The personality of Lao Tzu and the content of the book are so ambiguous that they still give rise to many disputes among researchers.In the prepared edition, the treatise is presented in the translation of Daniil Konishi, a Japanese scholar and graduate of the seminary at the Russian Theological Academy in Tokyo, who completed his translation at the request of Leo Tolstoy.
