For the first time, the hero of the novel “Oedipus Complex” appears before the reader in all the complexity of the experiences of an intelligent person. The originality of his spiritual structure is presented from the point of view of psychoanalysis of his actions. It is impossible to say unequivocally about him - good or bad. He is different, and his life is not like the life of the intellectuals we know. However, his typicality concerns his reflection, which does not prevent him from making many mistakes, the price for which is his loneliness, the inability to fit into the changing world around him. He is constantly late and barely has time to board the last carriage of a rapidly passing life. The story contains elements of the detective genre, which makes it possible to trace the evolution of the hero under the influence of unfavorable circumstances for him. The novel is written in the correct literary language, and in this it is opposed to such a popular postmodernism. The novel leaves a pleasant impression of a classic of the realistic genre.
