The Skull of Connemara is a gritty, dark comedy. Everything that distinguishes McDonagh’s dramaturgy, naked psychologism, the absurd dead end of recognizable life situations, the cruelty of people and circumstances, “black humor” - everything in this play is elevated to the highest degree.

The main character is Mick Dowd , a Linen gravedigger, must, in company with the Hanlon brothers, remove from the grave the body of his wife, who died seven years ago under mysterious circumstances. All residents of the town suspect Mick himself of murder. So how will it end? Will it be possible to avoid new blood? And did Mick kill his wife?..
