This book is based on the diary entries of the famous Soviet writer, laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, Hero of Socialist Labor K. Simonov, which he kept in Japan in 1945-1946 as a correspondent for Red Star. The second part of the book is dedicated to Japanese art. The author talks about his meetings with people of art - actors, folk artists and folk architects. Many political and social problems of that time have not lost their significance even now.
