The epic novel (parts I–V, 1922 - 1936) depicts estate Russia before World War I, then the war until the February Revolution. Stylistically, the work follows the traditions of the Russian novel of the 19th century. P. Romanov with high artistry knew how to notice the contradictions in life, to draw a character with a few words. He is characterized by lively lyricism and humor, mastery of dialogue, and realistic language.

Вражаюча епопея, що занурює у світ минулого!
Ця книга - справжній шедевр, який переносить читача в часи перед Першою світовою війною, малюючи яскраву картину садибної Росії. П. Романов майстерно відтворює атмосферу епохи, зображуючи не лише зовнішні події, але й глибокі внутрішні переживання своїх персонажів. Його вміння передавати життєві протиріччя та характери через лаконічні, але влучні описи вражає. Стилістика твору, що нагадує класичні російські романи ХІХ століття, створює відчуття справжності та глибини. Незважаючи на те, що переклад тексту здійснено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом він якісний і не заважає насолоджуватися читанням. Однак, варто бути готовим до деяких незначних недоліків у перекладі. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цінує літературу, що поєднує історію, ліризм та гумор!
