Little girls Tsibi, Magda and Livi make a promise to their father: to always be together, no matter what happens... In 1942, the Nazis take Livi supposedly to work in Germany, and Tsibi, remembering the promise given to her father, follows her sister to protect her or die with her. For three years, the sisters have been trying to survive in the inhumane conditions of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Magda stays with her mother and grandfather, hiding in a neighbor's attic or in the forest, but in the end she too is captured and sent to a death camp.
