Francois La Rochefoucauld (1613-1680) - French writer, author of works of a philosophical and moralistic nature. The main object of his research is the nature of people and human relationships, which La Rochefoucauld is also very skeptical about. He sees pride, vanity and the pursuit of personal interests at the basis of all human actions. The general tone of his writings is extremely poisonous, sometimes reaching the point of cynicism.
